Today’s card was created for the #summerbreakhop I am participating in on Instagram. The option for this week was sailing or Surfing. I decided to go with sailing.

If I am being honest, we have had a super busy week, and I had an hour to make a card. I don’t love rushing the process, I like the supplies to speak to me a for a bit. Easiest way to make a quick card is make the focal images smaller. So, I pulled a Sailboat from Canva printed it on Xpress-it blending card and masked the outside edges with blue painter’s tape.
I used the Swirls of Madness stencil from Crafty Stamp Co. it was absolutely perfect for creating the scene. I used 3 color of Distress archival ink to ink very carefully around the sailboat. Prize Ribbon, Mermaid Lagoon, and Salvaged Patina to give a gradient effect. Fun Fact: I didn’t mask the sailboat, I used a small blending brush and went really, really slowly.
The sailboat image is colored with Ohuhu alcohol Markers. I added a little bit of splatter with Copic Opaque white ink that I watered down just a bit.
