The holiday party season is just around the corner. Have you started thinking about your center piece? This fun lantern can do double duty has a fall decoration or a Halloween decoration. A fun alternative would be to add a nose, eyes and a mouth to make it a Jack O’ Lantern.

You can turn any box pattern into a lantern just by cutting out windows.
I created this pumpkin by merging two pieces of digital pattern paper from Halloween/Autumn Paper Haven 1 to create an orange and green pumpkin. I printed out 4 pieces of the same size in this case it is 4 x 6 then using my paper trimmer, I cut out a rectangle from each piece. I added some white strips in an X for a bit more detail on the window. You could add bats or a face, really anything you want.
The top is made with brown paper packing I had in my stash. I inked it up white archival ink to give more of a stem look I cut 2 small cardboard circles that I placed on the inside of the stem before twisting it closed. This gave me the ability to glue it the top of the later. Then I cut strips of green paper and inked them up to give some varying green curly vines. I cot the curl by wrapping them around a pencil and twisting.
I decided to keep the decorations on the front quick and used the Autum Fall bundle colour clipart. This is really great if you decided to make a few lanterns for the table. It thought he candied apple was party festive and I mixed with a few leaves.
