Christmas to Remember

Playing along with this week’s Global Design Project Sketch #310. This sketch leaves a lot of room for fun!

For this sketch I turned it on its side and focused on creating a Christmas Card. I used the Christmas to Remember stamp set for my sentiment and for the fun pine cones I used the Christmas Season stamp set. These stamps come in Bundles, if you buy your set in a bundle you save 10%! The two woodsy Christmas bundles coordinate really well, can you just image the possibilities? I am going to be doing a home décor piece with them next month.

My card base is Shaded Spruce. I then added a piece of Basic White splattered with Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. The center strip of my card features the SAB stamp set Textures and Frames which you can earn free with $50.00 purchase. I used Shaded Spruce on the center strip, the two shades come from using the stamp in full strength (fully inked) and then stamping again with out re-inking the stamp (also know as second generation or stamping off technique.)

The pinecone stamps are a 2 step stamp process. I first stamped the thicker pine cone image full strength in Soft Suede, the the thinner inner lines with a stamped off Soft Suede. Just line up the images as best as possible they are not meant to be stamped perfectly. It really helps to give the layer look to the pinecones. I used Cherry Cobbler to stamp the berries and Crumb Cake to stamp the stems, then die cut the to add behind the pine cones.

Using Glue dots I added a piece of the Sliver Elegant trim and two of the Real Red Wonderful Gems to finish off the card. I just love a card with embellishments don’t you!
