I created today’s card to play along with this week’s Global Design Project #327 theme love – Valentine hashtag 327. I I decided since I already had the awesome Otters stamp set on my desk, I would make a cute Valentine’s card with one of the fun little Otters.
When I first started making this card, I was trying to use Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, and Magenta Madness (soon to be retired in colors). I picked a piece of DSP from the Sunshine & Rainbows FREE SAB products. once the card was completed, I realized I had picked a piece that was Bermuda Bay and not Just Jade. Because of the shading I accomplished on the hearts it still matched up well and I decided to go with it.

I created a stencil using the heart dies from the Sweet Conversations bundle. I did this by arranging the heart dies on a piece of Basic White cardstock and running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine multiple times until I had a pattern that I liked. I then cut a piece of Basic White for my card layer and used washi tape to attach the stencil to the top of the CS and used my Blending brushes to add Magenta Madness and Just Jade for the heart colors. The fun part about using a blending brush with the stencil is that you can make areas lighter and darker to give varying colors in the heart.

I used a Misty Moonlight card base for this card. For the sentiment I used Happy Valentine’s Day from the Sweet Conversations stamp set. I did this by stamping the sentiment on Basic White and then chopping it up. I decided that the sentiment needed a Magenta Madness mat behind it. I also added a Vellum heart die cut out from the Many Hearts dies that retired last year behind the Otter. To finish off the card I added a few of the 2020-2021 in color square gems and strips of Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight that I ran through the Painted Textures 3D embossing folder. Then added banner and hearts die cuts from the Sweet Heart dies in Just Jade and Misty Moonlight.

To color my critter I used the Naturals Stampin’ Blends that will be released 2/1/2022!

I hope you enjoyed this card! Let me know by leaving a comment, and if you are in the United States and don’t have a demonstrator I would love to fill the position!
