Autumn Appreciation

Today I am participating in the Sharing Fall Hop hosted by @thatcraftygolden on Instagram. I had so much fun digging into my supplies and creating this fun background!

I used Distress Oxide Sprays for base layer of the background. I did a mix of just spray and then spray and spritz with water to get all the different looks. I used a mix of Candied Apple, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade and Mustard Seed. Once the base layer was dry, I Distress Glass to bright up the background. I also did this so I could add stamping and Heavy Gesso to the top layer.

I used the same colors above for stamping some background stamps from the Ultimate Grunge CMS075, you can find that stamp over at Simon Says Stamps. The leave with acorns stamp is from Inkadinkado Autumn Foliage Clear Stamps (I checked, it is available on Amazon). There is a link below to the Friendly Messages stamp set by Hero arts that I used for the sentiment. I love sentiments that have their own dies. This set has so many versatile sayings, it is a must have in your set.

I used the heavy gesso to add texture using Tim Holtz stencil pack 28. TIP: If you use a heat gun to dry it and leave it on you can make it bubble up a bit. Just be careful not to leave it on too long you don’t want to burn your paper.

Once the layers were dry, I added lots of different splatters including White Opaque Copic ink, I like it, because it doesn’t always take on the colors from the background. I fished the card by sending it through my die cut machine to give a Crimped Frame Edge die, this die can be found at The Greetery.
