You are the cream in my coffee for this fine Friday! Today’s card features the Coffee Break stamp set from super sponsor Whimsy Stamps. This is my go-to coffee set in my coffee themed stamps stash.
I picked up a small guillotine trimmer this past weekend and decided I wanted to make a strip card with it. While I do have a few strip dies, the sound of chopping strips up from scraps is just so satisfying. I cut two widths of strips to give the card interest. I used the Crimped Frame Die from the Greetery to cut out the background layer, it adds a finished look to the background.
I heat embossed the sentiment in white Wow! embossing powder directly on the strip background. I also heat embossed the heart on a piece of the green colored card stock and fussy cut it to place next to the sentiment.
Does this card need splatters, no it does not. But I love them, so I added white Copic opaque white splatter around the coffee cup and Walnut Stain Distress Ink on the sleeve of the coffee cup. This card has a nice masculine vibe to it would be perfect for that special someone.
