New Arrival Elephant

Hello lovely people! Today I have an A2 size card featuring New Arrival Elephants to share with you. I just adore the soft and sweet Oh Baby Party 6 x 6 Paper pad.

I started by die cutting a full A2 stitched rectangle for the first layer on my card base, I used the little feet pattern. Then I used another die cut from way in the back of my stash to cut out the cloud paper for the elephant and sentiment to sit on. I cut a vellum layer to put under the cloud paper and gave it an approximate 1/4″ border all the way around, and round the corners. I added Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink with a mini blending brush to the outside edge of the die cut cloud paper. I do this on most projects, white edges are scary lol. I did add a touch of white splatter when I was done with that step.

I adhered the little feet paper to a colored cardstock base using liquid glue. I then used double sided tape to adhere the velum layer to the cloud paper, liquid glue has a tendency to make vellum pucker. On the back of the vellum layer, I added a low-profile foam tape to give the layers a bit of dimension. I layered this on the little feet paper.

I stamped out the sweet elephant with little pants on X-Press It blending card and colored it with Copic markers. I then fussy cut the image. For a bit of added interest, I used a glue pen to add a line above the ruffle and a few dots in the flowers and covered the glue spots with glitter. I added the finished image with liquid glue to the cloud paper.

To finish the card, I heat embossed the “Congratulations on your new arrival” sentiment in white on colored cardstock. Be sure to use an antistatic tool when heat embossing to avoid any frustration with unwanted embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment and added a low-profile foam tape to the back and adhered them to the card front around the elephant.

I hope this card inspires you to head to your craft space and create something that makes you smile!
