Have a Sweet Birthday

Hey everyone! DT member Megan here sharing a very special card. My littlest turns 8 and one of her favorite Crafty Stamp Co stamp sets is Just Batsy, so of course I had to use it. I paired it with elements from Macaron Meadow and the 6 x 6 paper pad Birthday Brights.

I started by stamping out my images on alcohol marker safe paper using Copic safe ink and then colored them with Copic markers.

My little loves shaker cards so, shaker card it is. The first step was to create a sharker window frame. I then used double sided tape to adhere the shaker window frame to a piece of acetate to create the front of the sealed window. I added foam strips to the inner edge of the window frame. This will allow for the shaky bits to move freely on the card front.

I picked out a piece of the 6 x 6 Birthday Brights pattern paper for the back panel of my shaker window, I cut this piece just a tad smaller than my shaker window frame. I added the shaker bits to the middle of the stripe piece of paper. I then added the window frame to the top of the striped paper by removing the backing of the foam adhesive and pressing it down on the paper. With the shaker window complete I adhered the whole thing to a colored cardstock card base.

I used my Scan N Cut to cut out all the images including cutting the number 8 to place in the center of the card. I arranged the images on the front of the shaker window and used liquid glue to adhere them. The card needed a sentiment at this point; I decided to stamp the Have a Sweet Birthday sentiment on to colored card stock then fussy cut it. I placed it just under the 8 by attaching it with liquid glue. I fished the card with a few sequences, white gel pen highlights and a bit of glitter.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love to mix and match stamp sets, and I think these two paired together are a ton of fun.
