Playing along with The Paper Players sketch challenge this week. This ended up being a great sketch for a Winter themed tree I had been working on. I have to say this card just makes my heart happy. I hope you all enjoy it.

Over the weekend I was using my water Spritzters that have been sitting in the drawer for a hot minute. I added some water and used my re-inkers to add color. Now, I used Night of Navy, which came out a beautiful shade of purple, and Polished. I am still playing with the mix but pretty sure it is going to take a lot of drops to make it Night of Navy. I did spritz the two colors onto the Fluid 100 watercolor paper that Stampin’ Up offers and I really like the way it spread around. I let it dry overnight, I probably could have used my heat tool to dry it, but I was really just playing around to see what I might get and was not in a rush.

I used the Christmas Tree Dies that will be released on August 3, 2021, to die cut the tree. That added a bit of Basic White Splatter using my water painter and re-inker. when I finally decided on the card I wanted to do I cut a piece of Basic Gray and splattered it with the same process. The Basic Black layer has a bit of a different speckled look, I used the heat embossing powder to get that look. Just sprinkled a bit on and hit with the heat tool.

The sentiment I used came from the Stars are Shining Stamp set in the upcoming catalog release. I thought it was just perfect for this card! A few strips of DSP(one of those cool SAB items you can earn with a $50.00 purchase) to stay in line with the challenge and this card looked great. All of these layers were added to a Gray Granite Card Base. Then I decided it needed a few sequins, then the card was done. I could not/would not have done this card any differently. It makes me think of all the possibilities of winter.

Many of the products used on this card will not be available until 8/3/2021 be sure to check back!
