Sneak Peek Delicate Dahlias

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches challenge 496 today. I thought this would be a great sketch to try out the sale-a-bration set Delicate Dahlias! During SAB The Dahlia stamp is free with a $100.00 purchase, plan your orders for tomorrow August 3, 2021, accordingly if you are looking to have this stamp in your collection!

This card is fairly simple and will be easy to recreate. I love the dots on the Patter Play DSP and used it for the three panels of the card. This pack of DSP also includes a black with white dots sheet of paper! With my blending brush, I added just of hint of Juste Jade ink to the top and bottom edge of the DSP. I layered these on a Blackberry Bliss cardstock panel. NOW – when I made was adding the layers to the card, I did put the longest layer over to the left too far. I wanted the card to look balanced so I just trimmed a 1/8″ off the right side of the card base. If you recreate this card you will have more of a border around the edge of the card!

I used my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends to color a large circle on o a piece of vellum. I colored the middle with the dark blend and then went around the outside edge with the light blend. I kept my use my Dahlia stamp as a guide for how to big to make the circle. I then heat White Embossing powder to heat emboss the Dahlia on the vellum. Used my trusty scissors and did a little fussy cutting!

I used my Watercolor shapes to stamp a background of Just Jade for the sentiment to sit on. The sentiment is from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp set. I added a small strip of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock under my sentiment, this is part of the edge I trimmed from the card base!

Just a NOTE! The Leaf I used is from Sale-a-bration time #156618 Summer Shadows Dies, be advised these dies are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST ONLY, once they are gone they are gone! This die set pairs with the stamp set Shaded Summer in the annual catalog. Aren’t the fonts gorgeous!

Card Cut List

Cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the base –  4 1/4″ x 11 1/2 ” scored at 5 1/2″ – Remember I had to trim a 1/8″ of an inch on the right side card base after the pas was cut to 4 1/4, you will have a bigger border around the edge of your DSP.

Cut a piece of Pattern Party DSP 3 7/16″ x 4 3/4″, from this cut a piece off at 1 7/8″. The on the long side of the other strip cut a piece off at 1 3/4″. This will create the 3 panels needed for the front of the card.

You will need scraps of white and just jake for embellishments and the sentiment layer.
