Thank You Florals

Playing along with this week’s Global Design Project theme: Word Play! There are so many things that can be done with this theme. I decided to go with Thank you so much

I used the Sale-a-bration Beautifully Penned DSP to create this gorgeous card. This DSP really offer so many options for cards. So far I have done a Christmas card and this Thank you card and have a long list of projects I want to use it for. For this card I used the Soft Pastels to color in the images. I simply colored each flower and leaf the colors I wanted, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and Night of Navy. Then I took a wet paint brush and pushed it around until I like the shading. If it was not dark a enough I added a bit more of the pastel and pushed it around again.

I used a Blackberry Bliss card base, then added a layer of Smokey Slate. Here is where it got a bit interesting, I had some scrap Basic White so I added it in different sizes to the the top left and bottom right corner. After I adhered the Basic White with my multipurpose glue, I took the edge of my scissors and roughed the edges of the paper that did not have Basic white on it, I really like how the card has different areas of interest.

Let me just go off topic here for a moment. For all my years of being a Stampin’ Up! customer and now a demonstrator I am shocked that I never had Smokey Slate in my color collection! Smokey slate is just one of those grays that seems to be right for so much! You know something you did not know you needed in your life until you got it. I am so happy I finally finished my color collection. Ok, back to the card.

I kept my sentiment simple by heat embossing it and kept it to a single layer. The stamp set got the Thank you so much from is Inspired Thoughts. I just adore the fonts in this set. And I reached for that Crunchy Wisper White Ribbon that just cant seem to get enough of.
