Halloween Trick or Treat

Playing along with this week’s Halloween Themed Challenge over at TGIF Challenges! I have not a lot with Halloween projects this year! So it was fun to stretch my creativity a bit. Sadly I did not finish my post in time to enter the challenge, as well all know…life happens.

I only have 1 stamp set that has a Halloween sentiment and that is Little Delights sets. A few weeks ago I designed a few of the pre cut Tombostone treat boxes from Stampin’ Up! One of my designs included die cutting a hole in the front of one of the boxes so I could add window sheet to the inside. I hung on to the die cut just waiting for an idea!

Finally got an Idea! I decided to white heat emboss the the Trick or Treat sentiment on the die cut. I then used the Sweets & Treats stamp set to add candied apples to the card front. I used Real Red and Granny Apple Green to color in my apples. And just for an added touch of fun, I made my apples shiny by covering them in Versamark and Clear heat embossing powder! It is a little hard to photo shiny but in person it is fun detail.

I add a layer of Granny Apple Green ink to he edges of the Granny Apple card stock layer with my blending brush. Then I splattered it with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Maker. I added two stirps of Basic Gray that I ran through the Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder.

I used my Stampin Seal to add adhesive to the center of the card so that the Metallic Mesh ribbon would have something to hold on to and stay in place. I hope this card gives you a little inspiration.
