Faux Water Color Silhouette

I took a look at my stamp sets and realized I have not used the Amazing Silhouetts stamp set that I got months ago! So I pulled it out and got busy, you will see a few cards using this set this week. My kids are both home from school for the week and I had to keep the cards simple and quick.

I like the way the stamp has a faux water color feel to it and it stamped well on Basic White card stock. But it wasn’t the dramatic watercolor look that I was going for, so I decided I wanted to see what it would look like if I stamped it out on watercolor paper. I am out of my Fluid 100 paper, but did find some Ranger Watercolor paper in my stash and decided to use that. I put stamp on my Stamparatus plate inked it up with Misty Moonlight ink, then spritzed it with water. I love how the image came out with the dramatic faux watercolor look I was going for.

I did use a paint brush to smoosh the ink around in a few spots. Then I use the brush to add a bit of splatter around the image. I paired the stamped image with a Crumb Cake Card base and a strip of the Heart & Home 12″ x 12″ DSP.

To finish the card I added a bit of sequence, a double wrap of twine and White Heat embossed sentiment from the Through it Together stamp set. I love how quickly this card came together with the color coordination that Stampin’ Up! offers.

I hope you enjoyed this card! Let me know by leaving a comment, and if you are in the United States and don’t have a demonstrator I would love to fill the position!
