Today I share a beautifully blended background birthday card. I created this card for a special young man’s birthday and I hope he enjoys it as much as I ENJOYED making it.
I used distressed oxide inks to create the background. I will be honest I do not remember all of the colors I used. The colors I recall are Prized ribbon, Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky, Gathered Twigs and I think Salvaged Patina. Not knowing almost makes this blog post pointless, sorry about that. I have made some dry erase note sheets to keep next to my desk so I can write the card ingredients down as I go!
I used the two Stampin’ Up! sets to create the imagery for the card, Wildlife Wonder and Campanology. I just double checked and both sets are still available as of 5/13/2022. I used Cinnamon Cider (a now retired color) to stamp the bear and then fussy cut it and popped it up on foam tape. For the the dirt look on the bottom of the card, I used a stamp from wildlife wonder and the Gather Twigs distressed oxide to stamp the area that was already blended. It gave such a cool look, like actual dirt ground. I love it, lol.
The sentiment is heat embossed with White Opaqe WOW! embossing powder on a peace of Basic Black cards stock and then fussy cut and popped up on foam tape. Then I added three of the black classic matte dots from Stampin’ Up! For my stary sky I used All Purpose Ink for Fantast/x Frost White, it is made by Tsukineko. I did a quick search and it is available on Amazon. I love this stuff, it stick to so many surfaces just be sure to give it time to dry or it will smear.
I hope this card offers a bit of inspiration in your craft room!
