Sweet Bunny

As Easter is just around the corner, I thought I better get on it! I went with a classic pink and black color scheme for this card. I do love a good black and white striped paper; I picked this one up along with the spotted paper I used to cut an egg shape at Hobby Lobby a few weeks back. I am doing my best not to buy paper stacks instead just a few sheets as I need them. This really helps keep the projects focused and the supplies limited. That being said it took me 30 minutes to narrow my selection from 15 sheets of patterned paper to 4.

This adorable bunny is a digital stamp from Sweet November Stamps and is labeled as Sweet November Vault: Art. I thought it was so cute and could not resist. There are many other cute options, but I wanted to do something really simple. My Copic markers are still in jail, so I knew I was going to watercolor and picked a simple image to do so. I could have used color pencil but if I am being honest I really on like using color pencil on Kraft paper.

The background was created used Tim Holtz watercolor paper and Windsor Newton watercolors. I did add splatter using gouache and a shimmer watercolor.

I inked up the hand cut egg and the sentiment with Prize Ribbon Archival ink. I wanted them to stand out from the background. And to finish the card I add a black and pink mat layers before adding to the striped paper.

I hope you enjoyed this card and if you did be sure to leave a comment and let me know!
