Chasing Butterflies and Natural Tone Blends!

I am playing along with this week’s color challenge at The Global Design Project! GDP 325 colors are Pool Party, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink, a super cute color combo!

While I waiting for the new Natural Tone Blends to be delivered I contemplated what I wanted to use on my GDP entry for this weeks color challenge. I ended up using 3 Stamps and 2 dies sets, I know it is a bit much but they worked so well together. I used the Clouds from the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle, the hearts from the Sweet Conversations Bundle and the sentiment and little girl from the Chasing Butterflies Sale- A- Bration stamp set. I generally try to keep my cards to one or two sets per card, but I could not help myself with this one.

Chasing Butterflies

I started off by cutting 3 large pieces of this week’s challenge colors to layer on the card base. As I was working on it I decided it really needed a dark layer behind the colors to make them pop. So I added a Basic Gray layer.

I stamped 3 of the sweet little girl from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Chasing Butterflies, 2 for me and 1 to give to my 4 year old. At this point in my crafting career, I have learned to cut extra for her! I decided to use a piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP for the little girls dress. I did this by stamping the little girl on to the DSP and then fussy cutting the dress. I used Light Cinnamon Cider and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color her hair, I kept picturing my daughters hair during he summer when it has reached that sun bleached stage!

Then my order arrived! and I used the new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blend colors SU900 and SU1000 to color in the little girls face and body! I still need a bit of practice with the Natural Tones colors but I am soo excited that Stampin’ Up has introduced the line! They are part of the All Together Collection that will be available for purchase on 2/1/2022.

From there I decided to add Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush to a Basic White Stitched Rectangle die cut, then I added a layer of Vellum on top of that. I die cut a few clouds from the Rainbow of Happiness bundle, covered them with wink of Stella and did a bit of shadowing on the edges with the Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. I used Sweet Conversations bundle to stamp and die cut the hearts and create the banner tag for my sentiment. After I stamped the sentiment I covered it with a layer of Pale Papaya ink using a Blending Brush. I am delighted with the fished look of this card.

I hope you enjoyed this card! Let me know by leaving a comment, and if you are in the United States and don’t have a demonstrator I would love to fill the position!
