Be yourself unless you can be a Dragon

Today I am very excited to share the first card I made with the Cute Dragons Stamp from Ink Road Stamps! I adore the selection of sassy stamps that this company offers, the Cute Dragons set is perfectly named!

I colored 3 of the 4 dragons from this set a few days ago before having any idea what the card was going to look like. I used Copic markers V09, V12, V15, BG11, BG13, RV23, and the colorless blender for corrections to create the coloring for this sweet dragon. I am still new to Copic coloring, so I referred to Lauren Taylor’s Dragon card for my coloring inspiration, this really helped to understand where the highlights should go (be sure to check out her card, it is adorable). I added the highlights with the White Altenew Must Have Gel Pen, using lines and dots. Then popped the little dragon on some foam tape.

The sweet dragon sits on a Distress Oxide background of Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina. I used the Mini Tim Holtz blending tool to apply the ink to a piece of Bristol Smooth paper, I like the way the ink spreads so evenly on it. the I used the TH Mini stencil from set 46 to add texture to the card front. I used the same three colors in different areas on the card. To complete the background I added a bit of Clear Spark Wow! Embossing powder immediately after I added the ink using the stencil. I wanted the powder to have something to stick to for melting!

I don’t have any heart dies at the moment but wanted to create a window card, so I created the heart cut out using by brother scan and cut. I the heart on a A2 card base first, then cut the same heart out of the blended background. My heart was just a hair off center on my card base so the finished chopped the card base down (no mistakes just happy accidents). The finished card is 4″ x 5 1/2″. A few Stampin’ Up! clear embellishments finish the card with a perfect pop.

I hope you enjoyed this card. If you did Leave a comment and let me know! Until next time, Happy Crafting.
