Coffee, thinking about you

Back again with the Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet color combo! I had so much fun with it I decided to use it on my Monthly Inspiration Card. This month I decided to do more of a theme vs a sketch, but really the sketch can be interpreted in so many ways. I went with the coffee theme for today’s card, if you stick around long enough you will know that coffee is the THEME of my life! And how adorable is the Sleepy Dragon?!?!?! I could not be happier with the stamp set from Ink Road Stamps.

To create the back ground for this card, I used the Coffee Love stamp set from Altenew. I arranged all the stamps on a piece of white cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″, while it was on my Misti base, then closed the lid to get all the stamps to stay in one place. Then I inked up the stamps with the distress oxide inks, by applying in sections being careful not to get the colors too mixed. If you slow down and don’t go to fast it is not too messy. The Misti is perfect for this type of stamping to ensure you get adequate ink coverage.

The card I posted a few days ago had a heart cut out of the center of the card, this is that heart! When I cut it out I did not put it in my random cuts bin, I just new I wanted to use it right away! I added the sleepy dragon on top of it and went with sentiments from the Coffee Break Stamp set by Whimsy Stamps. Don’t you think the font ins prefect, and heat embossed in WOW! embossing powder is even better!

You can find the colors used to color the sleepy dragon on the blog post from a few days ago HERE. To finish the card I added a bit of black spatter. The Heart and sentiment are popped on on foam tape, along with the little zzzz thought bubble. Below is this months inspiration sketch/theme. If you are looking for a little inspiration give a whirl and if you post it to social media use #ldscs. I would love to see what you did and share it to my story!
