Today I am participating in Just Add Ink Card challenge # 622. I have not made any fall cards yet and this weeks challenge is a Just Choose Two, and the options just screamed FALL to me. The two main themes I picked were foliage and masking.
The technique used to create the back ground is the same Masking technique I showed last month only instead of watercolors I used Distress Oxide inks. You can find that post HERE for more details. For this card I went with Dried Marigold, Aged Mahogany, and Bundled Sage. Then added a layer of Distress class so I could add Spiced Marmalade and Picket Fence splatters.

Back in June I decided for the rest of the year I needed to spend minimal amounts on craft supplies. If you look around my craft room I am not lacking in stuff to use! What I don’t have is a fall stamp set, I had one but sold it awhile back so that I could invest in Distress Oxide inks. What I do have is a Brother ScanNCut, this is really helpful when I need shapes. I was able to find a fall leaf SVG for .50 for personal use over at Miss Kate Cuttables! This really helps the budget and while I was there I downloaded a few free Halloween SVGs that I will feature next week.

I inked up some Bristol smooth paper with about 8 different colors that I felt would look good on leaves. Then sent my cut file over to the ScanNCut, loaded my paper and let the magic start! Once they were done I cut out the background piece that shows the stem and vein of the leaf in Early Espresso cardstock from Stampin’ Up!. After putting the layers together I decided to ink the edges with Aged Mahogany to give the leaves a rich warm feeling.

I really love the Happy Fall Y’all vibe, so I picked a font typed it in word and printed it out! I really am making do with the supplies I have on hand. It takes more work than quickly stamping a sentiment or using a die cut, but the effort is always well worth it.
I hope you enjoyed this card. If you did Leave a comment and let me know! Until next time, Happy Crafting.
